NAEYC Standard 3
Observing, Documenting, and Assessing to Support Young Children and Families.
Focus: Using observations and assessments tools inform instruction and communicate progress.

Rationale
Ongoing assessments ensures instruction is intentional and responsive. It prevents "one-size-fits-all" teaching and allows educators to individualize learning experiences based on real data.

Example of Standard 3
I use anecdotal notes and developmental checklists to monitor skills like fine motor, language development, mathematics or social and emotional development and log it into my COR ASSESSMENT tool to track progress and enhance learning where needed.
Artifact 3: Here is an example of the app I use called Kaymbu. It's an assessment tool I use to collect data from each student in 3 periods throughout the school year. I share this information with parents at conferences and create meaningful lesson plans.
